FALL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN....
As you may have already seen, the DeRidder branch of the Beauregard Parish
Library has undergone some major changes! Thanks to a bequest from the
late Mr. Herbert H. McElveen, we have updated, rearranged, reorganized,
nipped, and tucked to create an environment even more centered upon patron
service and enjoyment. On Saturday, February 19, 2011, the DeRidder
branch staff will be hosting a grand re-opening with special guests
including caricature artist Beth Hebert, local student musicians,
activities for the young and young at heart, refreshments, door prizes,
and tours of the reinvigorated facility. We invite you to Fall in Love
with Your Library All Over Again and stop by between 1 oclock and 3
oclock in the afternoon to enjoy the festivities!
TIS THE SEASON TO BE TAXED
Christmas is over, and it is the beginning of a new year: a cause for
celebration. Now, we are ready to usher in the new season: Tax Season.
It is time to gather all W-2s and 1040s, but where can you find your
necessary forms and instruction booklets? At your Beauregard Parish
Library! Just stop by during open hours at the DeRidder branch and ask
any staff member for assistance with finding your necessary forms. Hurry
in because supplies are limited! If you happen to miss your chance to get
the available forms, dont worry. You can also download forms from
www.irs.gov. Printing your forms will only cost you ten cents per page at
your library. Library staff are not trained or able to confer with you
concerning your return, but if you need additional assistance, we can
offer you contact information to a number of local financial and tax
preparation businesses. You can, of course, visit www.irs.gov in order to
e-file, search for answers, or get in touch with the IRS. So, greet this
new (tax) season with enthusiasm (and proper forms) to make this new year
even better!

"I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness about
the underpinnings of our culture and our concern for the future can all be
tested by how well we support our libraries." ~Carl Sagan, Cosmos
