[Lswtalk] Scholarship and Carlberg Award....

I would argue that "enrollment in library support staff certification coursework" does not require registration for the whole-hog certification. I would also advocate for paying the $350 enrollment fee, as long as the total expense does not go over $1500.

Just my $0.02.

Question for the group :

Regarding the scholarship for those taking the LSSC classes our
eligibility requirements state "Enrollment in Library Support Staff
Certification coursework" which, if I understand the LSSC program
correctly, does not necessarily equate to being registered in the
certification program. Those classes can be taken as stand-alone
professional development activities.

I've got a few staff who are interested in the LSSC classes but haven't
decided if they want to go whole-hog for the full certification. Would
they be eligible for the scholarship if they weren't registered for the
certification?

If enrollment in the certification process IS required prior to
eligibility for the scholarship, would some of the scholarship be
available to reimburse the $350 (non-ALA member) enrollment fee?
