Attached are several things I found about Lynda. One is a 2011 Carlberg Service Award form. Lots of information about Lynda, the "Best of the Best"! Just for fun, the Lynda Carlberg laws. Don't recall who wrote it, but wow!

At last month's LSW meeting, quite a few of the newer members asked about the specifics of the Lynda Carlberg award. What is it? Who can receive it? Who can vote on the winner?

All but the barest of details escaped me. Were they ever written down? We knew and shared who Lynda was, how she was instrumental to the formation of this group, and what a special person she was. But there were still many questions I couldn't really answer.

Still, even though the membership is changing and our Author Dinner fundraiser - usually the award presentation venue - was axed, we definitely want to keep the Carlberg Award alive and well, I was asked to draft a description of the award, it's purpose, who is eligible, etc.

So I've created the attached by building on what I know of the award and our "process" in recent years plus throwing in some proposed parameters. I believe the highlighted info is the new, proposed info and the rest are the established tidbits.

It's just a draft so everyone please look it over and come prepared to discuss changes, corrections, etc. Howard, as our resident Carlberg Award expert, please chime in with thoughts, corrections, etc.

I look forward to seeing everyone next week at MSU where we will be discussing the Carlberg and voting on the scholarship recipients.
