New Services of the Vernon Parish Library

The Library is in the process of digitalizing its Newspaper Microfilm
Collection, with only a few reels left to go. The titles in the collection
are:
Leghorn Times Herald, 1944-1947
Llano Colonist, 1927-1937
People’s Friend, 1889-1895
Senior Advocate, 1988-1990
Vernon Parish Democrat, 1929-30
Leesville Daily Leader 1901-1940 (scattered), 1943 to date

All of these are located at http://vernonparish.advantage-preservation.com.
These are searchable. One can search all at once, or by title, or date.
Once the search results are shown, by clicking on the result, a copy of the
original page is shown.

The original newspaper on microfilm is still available for use in the
Library, and pages can be printed.

online software training site with hundreds of software applications
including Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver,
iPhoto, iTunes and iPad, Social Media and WordPress, Google Docs and Picasa
and many more.

Unlimited access to more than 40,000 easy to understand online training
videos, access these tutorials anytime, anywhere and learn at your own
pace. These are free courses. In addition to these online videos, the
Library also has many books available on the use of various computer
programs and devices.

Both Atomic Training and Artists Works for Libraries use the same password.
