[WBEL-devel] non-RHEL packages, IA64

Is there interest in keeping a repository for non-RHEL packages compiled
for WBEL? For servers, I tend to stick to the tried-and-true RHEL
versions (there are always some like openldap that I need features in more
recent versions), but for my desktops in particular I want the current
version of Mozilla, etc.

Right now I can just grab RHL9 RPMs and they work fine on RHEL3, but I
wonder if those will be going away or if there may need to be some
modifications for some of them for later updates of WBEL. I was thinking
it might be reasonable to have a repository of extra packages built for
WBEL.

In case anyone is interested, I am about half way through compiling RC2
for IA64. I will be able to test that the CDs boot (does anyone know if
there is anything special that needs to be done for install CDs with EFI?)
but I will not be able to install them on that machine to verify that
everything installs properly.
