I guess I should give more information. I actually am not using
anaconda to install my system. I am using systeminstaller, and all I
need are binary RPMS to work from. You pretty much answered my question
in that I don't believe I need a valid hdlist.

In my exerience, if you add or delete packages from the
repository you'll need to regenerate. =20
=20
Mostly adding - because hdlist needs to know about the new
packages - but if you remove packages it's a good idea because even if
your modified comps.xml doesn't refer to the package you removed - it
may effect the dependency chain.
=20
If you simply modify comps to install only a subset of packages,
you won't need a regen.
=20
You can safely regen... what's your concern?

Ok, so I joined this list more or less to pick peoples
brains... mmm brains...=20
I am rebuilding/rebranding RHEL, but I am not creating
ISO's. Do I still need to rebuild the comps and rpm-db packages, or can
I get by without them?
Thanks.=20
