That's interesting. I looked into my old messages from the initial
install and found the same thing, so it's probably not the kernel version.
I have a couple of these boxes, so I'll swap the disk into another one and
see what happens. It may just be an issue with that particular system.
What does your /proc/cpuinfo say?

Thanks.

I'm finding this very, very odd - because we just installed two
dual-Xeon boxes tonight, straight from WBEL3.0 CDs, and they *both* have
hyperthreading working...

# uname -a
Linux dynamic08.beau.org 2.4.21-4.ELsmp #1 SMP Sat Dec 13 19:21:55 CST
2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Four processors showing.

The library's primary server:

# x86info
x86info v1.11. Dave Jones 2001, 2002
Feedback to <davej@suse.de>.

Found 4 CPUs
CPU #1
/dev/cpu/0/cpuid: No such device
Family: 15 Model: 2 Stepping: 7 Type: 0
CPU Model: Pentium 4 Xeon (Northwood) [C1] Original OEM
Processor name string: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.40GHz

Number of logical processors supported within the physical package: 2

-----

Anyone else got any clues? Odin, the primary server, is up2date, but
the other two are not.
