Dear all,
I have built a machine with Whitebox Linux 3.0r1 and fully up2dated it.
During the build process, I configured the machine to have three RAID 1
partitions (/boot / & swap) mirrored across the two IDE drives. I am
using GRUB as my boot loader.
The machine boots happily onto these mirrored partitions when both
drives are connected to the system but if I detach either of the drives
(to simulate a disk failure) the machine will not boot - it will not
even reach the grub screen. This is obviously a bit of a major problem.
I have followed the guidance in documents that I have found on the
Internet and have installed GRUB onto both drives using the interactive
GRUB program as I understand that this is not done by the installation
program.
Any help or advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated as
I have spent a lot of time googling for an answer but to no avail.
