Not without breaking stuff. This is something under RedHat's control. Do 
note that the RHEL/WBEL kernel isn't a stock 2.4 kernel. RedHat 
backported quite a number of 2.6 features. Unless there's something 
specific you need, it's a pretty good kernel.

I can grumble about certain specific items that haven't been backported, 
but I do see better performance than a stock 2.4.
