The answer to your question, is that you probably want:

kernel-unsupported:

It has these files in it that contain "smc" as part of the name:
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/irda/smc-ircc.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/pcmcia/smc91c92_cs.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/smc-ultra.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/smc-ultra32.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/smc9194.o
/lib/modules/2.4.21-20.0.1.EL/unsupported/drivers/net/tokenring/smctr.o

The kernel-unsupported is all of the modules that RH doesn't
support, but do in fact build from their source tree.
