[WBEL-users] Software RAID1 problems

No, not really. It is an intel desktop board, PIII-850 supporting UDMA5.

I ended up rebuilding the system using RAID1 from the start. I have
mirrored / (100Mb), /boot (the rest) and swap (512Mb). Now, the system
does start and appeared to be fine, but when I went and checked /boot
and swap are OK, but / reports there is a problem with hdc. I know there
isn't a physical problem with the drive, and I can look at the
superblock OK.

I just can't figure this one out. I am still steering towards it being a
1024 limitation somehow but can't find the evidence to prove it yet. I
am still convinced it is something the kernel is doing.

How old is the motherboard?

I've not seen this problem for a very long time. The fact that you're
using 10GB WDs makes me suspect an ancient BIOS. :-)
