Sounds like it changed to vt7 and the X server failed to start. You can
change back to vt1 for example with Ctrl-alt-F1. I've noticed another of
your e-mails and am uncertain if X is installed on your system. Could
you send the output of the following commands:

  rpm -qa | grep XFree86
  service xfs status

If yum is setup and working you could issue the following command:

  yum -y install XFree86
