look for a line in your squid.conf ( /etc/squid/squid.conf ? ) file that 
starts with 'visible_hostname', if its commented out - you will need to 
uncomment it.

change it to :

visible_hostname myhostname.mydomain

replace myhostname.mydomain with whatever you want squid to report 
itself as.

save file + try to start squid.

Should work.
