This is correct - I don't believe RH9 had Pine, and RHEL (which WBEL
clones) doesn't have it - however, I believe one of the after-market
repositories has it available.
I have to agree, with respect to pico - I much prefer it for just getting
in and banging something out in pure text to vi or emacs. nano is a
wonderful clone of that, however, fully GPL, and a quick symlink between
pine and nano takes care of the fingers still having pico programmed it.
And I believe doing so tells nano to go into compatability mode (which is
mostly just a matter of not showing some options you do have - they're
still available, just not as in your face.)
For example, nano adds find-and-replace.
