[WBEL-users] yum and http proxy auth

Hi, 
   how can i configure yum to authenticate with an http proxy that requests an 
user and password? ´
I've tried this: 
export http_proxy="http://user:password@10.0.0.1:8080" but it doesn't work...
any ideias on how to do this?
