[WBEL-users] X windows stops working after kernel recompile

The answer to the question: "how to run a vanilla 2.4 kernel with RHEL/WBEL" is
mv /lib/tls /lib/tls-dontuse
and reboot. This disables NPTL. The LD_ASSUME_KERNEL= thing is less reliable.
Furthermore, if you install the NVIDIA driver make sure to run the install
script with the --force-tls=classic option.
Beware: upgrading glibc will create a new /lib/tls !
