This isn't the correct format.  Try:

[dag]
name=Dag RPM Repository for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el3/en/$basearch/dag

This looks right, though.

Perhaps you can copy and paste the output of an "up2date -i snort"?
