You might be correct, but he's definitely showing different symptoms
then any 3c509 driver problem I've seen.  I don't see anyone in that
bug near the top who had the driver completely fail to load.  I
didn't have time to read all the details to the bottom.  Normally
the problem, is that the card either doesn't work (but the module
loads), or is incredibly slow (normally, it's so slow things just
time out).
