So its seen. So far so good.
Next try a test backup with a known working tape. If you used a tape in
another backup software, backlupexec/arcserve/netbackup etc etc, then
you may need to erase the tape first (get new media, you are better off)
Install mt-st
mt -f /dev/st0 status (verify this is the correct device)
mt -f /dev/st0 erase
tar -cvf /dev/st0 /home/testfolder
Does it work?
