Have you bought a new stack of CDROM blanks?  Are the
new ones R/W or R only?

I have successfully installed WBEL3-respin2 twice with
no issues.

Do you have another machine to try your disc1 on?
It could be a friend's Windows machine.  Just don't
complete the install.  Then again ....  ;-)
