Simone,

For whatever it's worth, I've got several IBM servers with LSI
chipsets. This is what /proc reports they are:

# cat /proc/scsi/mptscsih/0
ioc0: LSI53C1030, FwRev=01000e00h, Ports=1, MaxQ=222

# lspci | grep "SCSI"
01:01.0 SCSI storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53c1030 PCI-X Fusion-MPT Dual Ultra320 SCSI (rev 07)

# lspci -n | grep "01:01"
01:01.0 Class 0100: 1000:0030 (rev 07)

It works just fine for me. I have no idea what the LSI part number
is. It appears all of my part numbers are based off the Symbios
Logic chipset used. The one problem we do have, is you can't do an
install if you also have an Adapatec card installed. You can't boot
if you also have the adaptec installed. You have to pull the
adaptec card, do the install, upgrade kernels, then put the Adaptec
card back into the machine. This is supposed to get fixed after the
next respin. However, the respin is starting to become fairly
"mythical" at this point. I think it hasn't reached the top of John
Morris's to do list.

I did break the mirrors that the hardware controller shipped. We
use software mirrors on everything we have, so we did it for the
sake of consistancy on these machines.

	Thanks,
		Kirby
