Jim,

I see plenty of e-mail activity in the last two days (I'd guess
20-40 messages). I've had problems at various points in the past
(one global problem, one a local one) with the list.

	Some troubleshooting advice:

1. Check the archives:

http://beau.org/pipermail/whitebox-users/2005-January/date.html

At the bottom, you'll see list traffic. Wait a day, check to ensure
you are getting the messages listed there. If you are, you are
getting the same e-mails as everyone else.

On one occasion, no e-mails got added to the archive or sent to me
for 2-3 days. Including one I knew I sent asking a question. One
e-mail to John Morris (I get the impression it was one of several he
got), and the problem was explained on the list. Mail started
flowing after that.

2. If there are messages on the list, but you aren't getting them.
Okay, that's a problem. Now you are into general e-mail debugging.
If you can, check your email server logs, looking for connections
from "beau.org", see what is happening to the mail.

Try asking the e-mail list interface (above link) to send your list
password. That should tell you if you are a subscriber, and what
your settings are. You might want to review those. (Don't use an
important password, as that appears to be a non-SSL interface, and
the message is sent back to you in the clear).

At one point, I had problems sending or receiving e-mail from
beau.org due to an odd DNS problem. Essentially beau.org or
whiteboxlinux.org had a bad backup DNS server, thru some odd series
of coincidences, I got stuck on the bad backup DNS server. John
fixed the problem on his end, once I convinced the my mail server to
deliver a personal message to him.

	Thanks,
		Kirby

PS: I sent this message both directly to you, and CC'ed the list.
So hopefully you'll see it even if you aren't getting list traffic.
