[WBEL-users] Final Remaining Boot Annoyances

I've got WBEL working pretty well on this laptop now, but there are a
few nagging problems with the boot sequence. First has to do with the
chip. It's an AMD Mobile Athlon 64, and the system seems to be having
trouble talking to it - here's the output from dmesg...

powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Athlon 64 / Opteron processors (version 1.00.09b)
powernow-k8: 0 : fid 0x0 (800 MHz), vid 0x13 (1075 mV)
powernow-k8: 1 : fid 0x8 (1600 MHz), vid 0x8 (1350 mV)
powernow-k8: 2 : fid 0xa (1800 MHz), vid 0x4 (1450 mV)
powernow-k8: cpu_init done, current fid 0xa, vid 0x2
powernow-k8: vid trans failed, vid 0x1, curr 0x2
powernow-k8: transition frequency failed

(those last 2 lines are repeated over and over throughout the output of
dmesg...)

Also, PCMCIA takes so long to initialize that rhgb pops up the virtual
console, and then actually switches the display back to the text-mode
console. Here's what dmesg has to say about that...

Yenta: CardBus bridge found at 0000:00:0a.0 [1462:0111]

and then

cs: pcmcia_socket0: time out after reset.
PCMCIA: socket 000001001c17e980: *** DANGER *** unable to remove socket
power

which appears many, many times during the output. What's up with these
two processes?

Also, as an aside, MySQL starts, but on startup, it says "timeout trying
to start MySQL daemon" and "FAILED". Is there a different way I need to
init this so that it knows when it starts up?

Thanks... :)
