Hi

I have setup a whitebox machine to be a secondary DNS box - Querying the
box from another on the same network often results in a failure which if
then queried again will result in a success eg.

$ dig @80.168.121.5 www.google.co.uk

; <<>> DiG 9.2.4 <<>> @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx www.google.co.uk
;; global options:  printcmd
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

and then straight away

$ dig @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx www.google.co.uk

; <<>> DiG 9.2.4 <<>> @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx www.google.co.uk
;; global options:  printcmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 25687
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 4, AUTHORITY: 4, ADDITIONAL: 0

;; QUESTION SECTION:
;www.google.co.uk.              IN      A

;; ANSWER SECTION:
www.google.co.uk.       345600  IN      CNAME   www.google.com.
www.google.com.         368     IN      CNAME   www.l.google.com.
www.l.google.com.       255     IN      A       66.249.87.104
www.l.google.com.       255     IN      A       66.249.87.99

any ideas as to what might cause this? They are on the same network and
so no firewall in place. No firewall running on the box either.

thanks!
