Aaron,

What make you belive that you killed it ? did u just overwrite the MBR
without adding your XP boot information to LILO or GRUB ?

anyways to mount NTFS use

as root add this to your /etc/fstab

 /dev/hd[a-z] /your_mount_point ntfs users,owner,ro,umask=000 0 0

and then do a mount -a
