Hactually, I prefer not to use Mailscanner.

I don't know if it's changed recently, but when I used it, it would accept
all emails and then /dev/null the ones it didn't like. That meant that I
was downloading the entire mail body - however dodgy it looked - and
binning it later. I was also being seen as a server that wold accept
spammy mails - although there don't appear to be many spamnets that
collect such info, it appears that a few do.

So these days I don't use Mailscanner. I use the Spamassassin and Clamav
milters for sendmail. That means I reject mail part-way through the SMTP
transaction, and the message is rejected, rather than accepted/binned.
I've had a couple of false-positives with the settings I use, but I really
don't get very much spam at all...
