Hello all,
I am ready to throw this laptop out of the window (and I am 16 floors
up)
I am running kernel version 2.4.21-4.EL, I have a realtek 8139 network
card that just wont work (works under windows - yuck)
The interface comes up fine with ifup eth0. I have even gone as far as
to upgrade the version of the driver (downloaded it from
realtek.com.tw). Has anyone had any similar problems with this card
where everything looks fine but just wont communicate?? I know that when
I run other distros on the same laptop they work fine, however Redhat
EL, Fedora & Whitebox just don't like this card.
Dmesg gives

So as you can see the module 8139too loads fine. Should I look at
upgrading the kernel ? Is this a kernel issue??
