Just a side not, make a copy of your working config and the
corresponding rpm yum package and put it tar'd up in a safe place. I
wrote a very basic shell script that installs the new yum package( rpm
-Uvh yum*), copys the conifg to /etc, chkconfigs yum to enable it for
nightly updates, then simply starts the update process. This works well
for someone who has to setup many machines.

Eh, not to sure why myself. I just add to the list of annoyances you go
through doing system setups, like working with sata drives blah...
