Hello Graham,

Could be. Anyway as you say re-sending the data seemed to fix the
problem.

We also had a talk about the data on the site of which he was not clear.
Such as no data in some of the recent observed fields. E.G. no gust
value. While talking him through the new runway and taxi temperature
forecasts, he could not access the SFC temp map. It bombed out 3 times.
He says Java is installed. Do not know the answer to this. Can you, or
mark, please can help him?

He also asked about Stansted and a Vaisala link and data. This I know
nothing about. I looked at the Stansted site while talking to him and
found that these two products are not available (Aberdeen, Edinburgh and
Glasgow are OK). According to him the Stansted products should be
available. Only Heathrow should still not be available. Again, can you,
or Mark, please advise him about this and the Vaisala thing?

I do not have his e-mail address, but the telephone number is 01293
504331 (John Lint(?) at BAA).

Regards,
Michael

It is not possible as only one set of values are in the database for any
airport, however, updating has now lost that information. The data in
the database now, and the previous update contain no negative air
temperatures (they are unchanged). Is it possible you are referring to
Surface Temperature (i.e. Runway temperatures) which did go down to 0.1
degrees but now are around 6-7 degree?

WSI ENGINEERING REPORTS
FORECASTER NAME: Michael de Villiers
DATE: 2007-11-06
TIME: 1315Z
CLIENT: BAA
SUBJECT: False air temperature data on EGKK site
CONTACT NUMBER: IT (631).

Call from an unhappy John Lint(?) 01293 504331 at BAA. EGKK
Gatwick on the BAA (baau0000) site had negative air
temperatures on it starting this afternoon and into the
night. These also appeared on the WSI (wsiu0000) site, but
were correct on the NATS (natsu0000) site. The correct
temperatures were on the Hubcast editor in the Metlab.

Re-submitted the data. This fixed the problem.

The question is, how was this possible?
