President's Message

Welcome to all Beauregard Cattlemen and visitors. If you are reading this message, it means our Beauregard Cattlemen Website is up and running. Thank you to the many who volunteered their time to make this site possible.

For several years, I have looked around at our Cattlemen meeting and thought that our membership (though we have many years experience) was aging. The Cattlemen Board has worried about this causing our organization to become extinct. The last meeting proved our worries unnecessary. New, youthful faces were in the audience. Board members were elected, which included our female members as well as younger members. This is positive direction for our organization.

To continue the cattlemen growth in our area, we must promote interest for all members. I feel it is imperative to encourage and rebuild our Jr. Cattlemen Club. For too long, we have ignored this absence. Some Committee’s are at work trying to remedy this problem. They hope to present these workable solutions to the Board in the near future.

In a time when our cattle production is being affected by increased fuel and fertilizer bills, we as Cattlemen need to communicate about applications that work. These may be in place or new alternatives, but we must utilize methods to cut cow/calf production cost. We have begun this interchange of information in open meetings for our members and their guests. Thus far, they have been enlightening. Hopefully, this Web Site will be an additional tool in offering our members, as well as, potential members, information to succeed.
