The IN START service menu Access this menu via either MENU on the set and remote (not all firmware versions), sending the code via a universal remote or via the serial port. See the EZ-Adjust menu for details. Displays a large menu covering most of the display. The left column shows some stats at the top and a menu below. To the right is the available options for the selected menu item. The example below is from my set, yours will probably vary a little. Drop a note if you have different items, especially if you can figure out what they do. The top left section: IN START Model Name : 32LF11-UA S/W Version : V04.23.00 UTT : 7 UI Res. Version: V00.01 BOOT Version: V00.01 SPI Boot version : V03.00.00 LED Version : V00 EDID Version (RGB) : V01.01 EDID Version (HDMI) : V01.02 UTT seems to be a odometer to track run time in hours. There is an option below to reset it, guess when they do a 'factory reconditioned' unit or perhaps when the backlight is changed the counter is supposed to be cleared. BOOT Version is probably the U-Boot version but obviously an internal to LG versioning. SPI Boot is probably what runs first and sets up the RAM and figures out what part of the main Flash to load and execute. Not sure what the LED version is all about since the power LED/remote sensor board doesn't appear to have a microcontroller. Probably refers to the firmware that gets loaded into the MICOM/8051 micro. It seems to do a lot more than just run the LEDs though. The Menu items Items with a - in front of the number appear to be informational only since when you press the right arrow to enter the menu these items are greyed out. 1. Adjust Check -0. The numbers have arrows to the side but you can't actually adjust them from here. You can do so from the EZ-Adjust Menu and you don't have to futz with binary bit fields either so go there instead. 2. ADC Data 0. Source 480i/Comp 1080p/RGB 480i Comp 1080p RGB 1. Baudrate cen be picked from 2400 to 460800. 9600 is the default but 115200 matches U-Boot and eliminates having to change your terminal program. The two hour off option should instantly be switched off. This causes the set to turn itself off after two hours of 'inactivity', i.e. no key presses on the set or remote. Has to be the greens at work. Good grief, many configurations would only send IR to the TV to turn it on and off for a good portion of it's service. Officially the two hour limit only hits for the timed power on but it bit me while playing one of the cable music channels with the display switched completely off from the eco menu, But only once. Audio EQ does what? If I had to guess it sets up a default EQ that tries to compensate for the tiny speakers blowing out the bottom. At least the specs for the NTC3100 say it CAN load a profile to compensate for the speakers. Feh, just take the Optical out to an amp driving real speakers, K? The 15 min timer turns the set off after fifteen minutes without a signal. No real clue what the next couple do. Tuner Option defaults to Enhanced Ghost but can select between Enhanced Phase High, Default and Enhanced Phase. And exactly what they do is also a mystery. Pretty sure they only apply to ATSC/DVB-T though. Atten Signal probably engages a small attenuator to cope with overload on the RF jack. 5. Test Option 0. Auto Test Off 1. UI Time Out On 2. By jittering the system clocks a bit it reduces the spikes on the Spectrum Analyzer of the emissions from the system board, making it easier to get FCC type certification. 8. Sync Level 1. Load Channel lists? Online references to a box from LG that hooks up to the serial port called a TV Link Loader.
