Renee, thanks. I have had a policy for 25 years that I do not do business
over the phone, unless I am calling, or know the sales rep very well, and
even then, usually, my canned comment is "I don't do business over the
phone, please send me info either u.s. mail or e-mail and I will look at
it, if interested, get in touch." This has prevented many problems, and for
some, they just hang up. We also do not do previews of books, etc. Same
reasons. When I came to Vernon 31 years ago, there were boxes and boxes of
IMB typewriter ribbons for typewritters we no longer had, all "purchased"
by phone as real IBM, when they were not. We still get calls on a regular
basis for Xerox supplies. All scams.
