I am attempting to address the interactivity problem in the RHEL kernel, most notably by using XMMS and go back and forth with Mozilla (you need small bursts of CPU usage). Actually, I reported this to Red Hat as a bug, but somewhat lost my patience now waiting for any movement from Red Hat's side.

I have written a preliminary backport of the "interactivity patch" that appeard in 2.6.0-test6 to Red Hat's 2.4.21-4.0.1.EL, but still need some work on it. If sucessful, while I wish to submit it to Red Hat, I thought it might also be useful for WBEL.

Since kernel and kernel patching is quite sensitive, the question is: Are people here also interested in kernel developments?
