The error message from Windows is a known bug[1] - however, it's the
error message that's at fault - the user's password is in fact changed.
The solutions are:
- Uninstall the appropriate Windows hotfix
- Upgrade samba (to a version that doesn't exist in Whitebox)
- Tell your users to ignore the spurious message.

I went for the third option, but then all my users sit within talking
range so it was quite an easy job :-)
