Hi, Vicki & all. I'm de-lurking because I wanted to put my 2 cents
in. First, I want to thank you, Vicki for your considerate and
reassuring posts to the WBEL lists. Your replies to certain posts have
had... class.
I also want to thank John for all his work on getting WBEL off the
ground. I hope he feels accomplished in what he has provided to the
community. Many people appreciate what he has done.

With that said, I think there is a communication problem. I read
offers to help with architecture builds, offers to help with building
the errata updates and offers for bandwidth/mirror sites. Yet, their
offers are ignored. (At least that is how it appears to be, publicly.
Since some have written back to the lists saying they never received a
response, I'm guessing the majority of those offers have been ignored
privately, as well.)

I certainly understand that John may be very busy and may be 'the
quiet type', but it appears to be more than that. My observations over
the past two months have been that it *seems* like John wants WBEL to be
a 'one-man' project.
If he wants that, that's fine! I am grateful to him for what he
has done, and if he wants to keep the project close to his breast, I'm
not going to argue or raise a fuss. Yet, I (and I think others) would
like to know his intentions.
Since John is primarily doing this to support the Beauregard Parish
Library's infrastructure , I wouldn't doubt it if he wanted to do the
updates himself. That way, he would know *for certain* what was in them
before installing them on his employer's computers. If that is the
case, the rest of us just want to know that.

...I just noticed that John changed the WBEL home page,
<http://whiteboxlinux.org/index.html> to state that Update 1 errata will
be available in a day or so. Too bad that wasn't posted to the
WBEL-announce or WBEL-devel list. From what he wrote, it appears he is
going it alone.

Thanks, again to you & John and the Beauregard Parish Library for WBEL.
