Taking Fedora Core as an example:

[whooper@butters whooper]$ cat /proc/version

version 3.2.3 20030422 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-6)) #1 Fri Jan 30 13:48:31 EST
2004

Since Fedora doesn't have the TM restrictions I doubt Red Hat would have
an issue.
