Not enough information to say.  Most likely a configuration problem with
X.  Has X ever run on the box?  Have you tried to configure X with
redhat-config-xfree86?  Contents of /var/log/XFree86.0.log or more
output from startx might help (run "startx >& Xerrors.log") might help
debug.
