heh - depends.  I've never had it segfault, but it downloads *all* the 
headers it can that are new.  I believe the reason is so it can resolve 
dependencies locally, and that next time you run it, it won't have to 
download them.  I did a "yum info sane" and it took forever (because of 
the recent updates).  However, later that day when I typed "yum update", 
it told me what it was going to do pretty quickly.
