I have been exeriencing this redetect fenomena on machine's where I have
been using a Realtek 8139* network card.
After install ( I always use kickstart) on first reboot the problem =
shows
up.
After a lot of research I came up with this and this
is exactly what I have been seeing as well :

I just compiled kudzu 1.1.22.5-1 and hwdata 0.101.12.1 from their src =
rpm
on a Whitebox machine. Integrated the resulting RPM's in the RedHat RPM =
tree
on mij install server. Ran genhdlist etc. and gone is the problem.
Hope this will help other users of WBEL and save them time to figure out
what is going on.

Anybody with a great idea on how to make solutions like this available =
for
other WB users without havoing to change the main distribution again and
again ???. ( I am personally a bit biassed as I always maintain aat =
least
one up to date install server and use that server to genera new cd/dvd
images if and when I have to (kickstart) install a system and no install
server (read my laptop) is availabe.=20
