What is the RAID level? I'll do some benchmarking on my proliant3000 with
one 500Mhz CPU, 1GB RAM & wide-ultra SCSI, with RAID1's and LVM'ed across.

So I will expect crappy performance as its an old box, slow SCSI
subsystem, software RAID and LVM across the three RAID1's.

But I bet I can beat that perf :-0

Kernel 2.6 is faster than 2.4, but its bleeding edge.
