I think there might be some confusion. Red Hat *does* munge e-mail
addresses when you view their archives. As an example, see this post:

I cannot speak about the other mailing list archives you mention,
because I am not subscribed to them. However, of the four mailing lists
I do subscribe to, one requires a reader to be a member before one can
read the list archives on the web, two munge the sender's e-mail address
in the archives, and one (WBEL) puts the sender's e-mail address out in
the clear.
I use a separate e-mail address for each mailing list. The WBEL
one is the only one from which I routinely receive spam. (Not a lot,
thankfully.)
It would be nice if the e-mail addresses in the WBEL mailing list
archives were munged.
