[WBEL-users] Google Alert - "beau.org/pipermail/whitebox-users"

I think upon signing to WBEL email add should not be listed on web, just
like squid mailing lists, where email addresses are actually not being
exposed. But it seems that most spammers are not into linux-oriented mailing
lists, nevertheless we as members of the mailing lists could somehow install
some anti-spam programs. Here i installed milters+spamassassin+mailscanner
with AV over sendmail using spamcop for added protection. And im sure the
WBEL mailing list admin can handle if ever spam exists.

I think there might be some confusion. Red Hat *does* munge e-mail
addresses when you view their archives. As an example, see this post:

<http://www.redhat.com/archives/taroon-list/2004-October/msg00344.html>

I cannot speak about the other mailing list archives you mention,
because I am not subscribed to them. However, of the four mailing lists
I do subscribe to, one requires a reader to be a member before one can
read the list archives on the web, two munge the sender's e-mail address
in the archives, and one (WBEL) puts the sender's e-mail address out in
the clear.
I use a separate e-mail address for each mailing list. The WBEL
one is the only one from which I routinely receive spam. (Not a lot,
thankfully.)

It would be nice if the e-mail addresses in the WBEL mailing list
archives were munged.
