I would have to agree with Jeff's comments. I became a supporter of
WBEL because of the fantastic support and information I received
from the list for a Dell IA64 server.
On this topic, there were comments on the this list from May regarding
problems performing yum updates for the WBEL4 release.
I had problems searching the archives due to what appears to be an ongoing
DNS issue with the beau.org site.
I sent Mr. Morris an email describing the problems I had seen and possible
solutions. He never responded (with the beau.org site problems, I'm not
sure he ever received my email).
It's now mid-August and there are still ongoing discussions revolving
around the same problems in the update process.
IMHO, for this project to move forward-- good, solid information needs
to flow on this list. I have yet to see a summary/solution of the yum
issue from May.
I don't mind rolling up my sleves and doing some of the work myself, but
I'd rather not duplicate the work others have already done. The lack of
solutions/summaries in the archives makes me question if recent postings
have made it into the archives.
Just my $0.02.
