[WBEL-users] Version conflict?

Is there any difference between WBEL's version of RedHat's updates and 
the originals?
 
I am asking this because I am trying to install IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.3 
on a fully updated White Box system and it will not run but fails with a 
Fatal Error.  IBM tells me that there are customers out there who are 
running 6.5.3 on RHEL 3 Update 1 which is the supported configuration.
 
I am running my production server on WBEL without Respin 1 and Domino 
6.5.1 and all is fine, although this is *not* a supported 
configuration!  Also I can run 6.5.1 on updated Respin 1, no problem.  
But I cannot run 6.5.3.  I have not yet tried to run 6.5.3 on a 
non-updated version of WBEL but it will run on a non-updated Cent0S (I 
am running out of hard disks!).
 
Can anyone explain what, if any, differences there may be between RHEL3 
Update 1 and WBEL3 Respin 1 (or CentOS come to that).  I know they share 
the same source code so I would have thought it would work ...
