The system freezes up. no errors visible whatsoever.
I Checked the logs but found no errors.
The PSU was the first thing tht came to my mind, but then again, A
same PSU is capable of powering a P4-3GHz with four harddisks, so I
don't think that's the problem.

I found out it has something to do with either the CPU or mobo.
Sometimes it reports I have a cpu running at 1019MHz instead of
2200MHz. The mobo is a Giga-byte GA-K8NS and an AMD Athon 64 3000+
(not a 300+ as I wrote in the initial post)
