So pleased to hear that y'all at beau.org are safe and my thoughts and
prayers are with you and all in Louisiana at this time.
Those in a more fortunate part of the world should check this
astonishing article (and the links) on The Register:
<http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/09/01/new_orleans_hosting_survivors/>
It makes any problems we have look pretty small....
>My only suggestion is to set up your email software to send an
autoresponse back to the list every time it sends you an unwanted email.....
I can't believe I just read that! If I get unwanted email (I use Lotus
Notes) I write a rule to put it into a folder so I can delete it
later... I thought all clients can do this.
>It's a shame that whitebox has sunk so low. I think it is time for
everyone to unsubscribe. From what I've read on this list, the project
is dead anyway.
Eh?? We are about to install two more White Box servers. I have got
quite a few people interested in it since I "discovered" White Box. It
has been like a release from prison for me.
>In my experience, when you really need help the linux crowd offers
help as useless as yours.
I used to think that, but now I agree with Vic "the "Linux crowd" (if
there is such a thing) generally tries to get you to think for yourself.
It's far more beneficial in the long run..." Indeed it is, as my
personal collection of "Linux people" (including some on this list) have
done just that with me which is why I now can build Linux servers and
PCs and am sought after as someone who can de-virus a Windows machine.
A few years ago I was just a secretary.... There is always loads more to
learn though!
