Yeah, I experienced this too. I don't know whether it's worth fixing,
since we are trying to stay as close to RHEL3 as possible. (It might be,
since it's an improvement to fix it; we just need to be careful not to
break something else in the process of fixing it.)

If you remove the old kernel package (using rpm -e), it'll recognize
that the kernel is up to date.
