This is what I am currently doing, but it doesn't work well, I risk
damaging the file systems or I have to be at the PC (one of my goals
is remote rebooting).

I have thought about this -- it seemed like the most promising from
a file system integrity point of view, but I don't know how I can
keep the kids from messing with this. Windows can't protect a dos
file system (as far as I know) and I don't know how to prevent
Windows from mounting a readable partition (I can hide it with grub,
but then I don't know how to mount it again when I need it).

I was hoping there was some tool in Linux that would make this easy,
but it looks like I might have to see if there is a way to use the
DOS partition and only mount it as administrator (when needed).
Does anybody know how to use Windows well?
