What network card are you using and what errors do you get?
Your network card is most likely defined in /etc/modules.conf , check if it
lists the correct type (look for a line like "alias eth0 ee100" )
Most settings are stored in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
Open it and make adjustments as needed.
Now do an "ifup eth0"

If it fails, list your /etc/modules.conf and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file, that might be useful.
