I turned off enum because the system would typically hang on some wbinfo operations. I really didn't trouble shoot it very hard. Perhaps the problem was I was joining a domain with ~160,000 users & it just took too long to resolve all those account sids.

I did this a few months ago. I don't have it running today. I offered my setups as an example. You will need to adjust them to fit your situation.

So put your smb.conf back to where you had it. You will need the template homedir & shell configured for AD account login though.

Make your pam changes & test. Remember, my examples include nis.
